Love a good Mexican storefront restaurant, and this is one of 'em. Sits right on the main highway from Palm Springs heading south to the Coachella Valley, and this stop is way worth it.
Excellent (and unusual) appetizer of chile guerros, a mild but really flavorful set of stuffed chiles.
Followed that up with a half-crispy half-soft carnitas dish that had great beans and rice, along with a delicious grilled jalapena pepper for added punch. Couldn't have been better. And . . . a great value for the wallet.
Check 'em out when deserting . . .

(And PS, my buddy says they serve the best posole in the universe)

No better Mexican food in the desert... their shrimp dishes are outstanding as are most the items on the menu. Very friendly staff and outstanding service. We get out to the desert several times a year and this restaurant is our absolute favorite. It is not unusual for us to dine here several times each time we get out here.

Tonight was the poblano chicken. A delicate thin piece of chicken smothered in a perfect poblano cream sauce.
Great weather I ate outdoors and had excellent service.
Nice soft music not too much road noise. A pleasant evening with a great meal
Chips remain the best in the valley.

Super Authentic yummy American food. One of our favorite spots. Always friendly staff and great service

My family totally hearts this joint. We try to eat here at least once every time we vacation in Palm Springs. Food is great, service same, parking is easy, prices beyond reasonable, and the portions are pretty large. We're usually seated pretty quickly, although we do try to avoid peak times.

*Let's Salsa in Cat City*
Was craving a simple grilled chicken, rice & bean burrito and didn't want to brake the bank with all those $20 burritos out there.
Looked on Yelp, read lots of favorable reviews and noticed $12.00 burritos. Wifey wanted a couple grilled fish tacos so we drove by to check out the place.
Located in a fairly large strip mall with more than plenty of parking, across the street from Aqua Caliente Casino.
Place was fairly busy at (early) dinner time considering how hot it was outside. Based on the reviews I could tell it was filled with locals -- which is always a great sign.
The decor inside is really cute & screams authentic Mexican restaurant...and all the patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Placed our takeout order with a friendly waitress (forgot her name) and was told it'd take about 20 minutes.
Went next-door to Big Lots to stay cool & browse and even got myself a little treat for dessert :))
Order was ready on-time and packaged well.
My burrito was excellente. Rolled perfectly in an A+ flour tortilla...filled with tender grilled chicken...perfectly cooked and tasty rice & beans. I would definitely return back for the same thing.
Wifey tho, wasn't too thrilled with her grilled fish tacos as the fish portion was rather small...and the entire taco itself lacked flavor.
My only other complaint is: it was obvious to the waitress we'd never been there before and "first-time customer's." While placing our order, I asked if any of it came with chips, and was told "no, only for dining in." I totally understand higher food costs & all...but I've never experienced this before with Mexican food takeout. Anywhere. And it's not even a lot of tortilla chips anyhow. It's something I've grown accustomed to. Thought about ordering some but didn't want an entire basket -- just wanted that "handful" to sample the tortilla chips I usually receive. I was slightly disappointed she didn't offer some or throw a handful into the bag, considering I gave her a nice tip (after placing my $24+ tax order) which was the same amount of tip had we dined in. I still don't understand the logic -- people dining in gorging on basket after baskets of chips...(salsa too) and the staff needs to tend to this. But for takeout? It's just a simple one & done handful thrown into the bag.

My husband and I found this modest spot while on a staycation in Rancho Mirage.. it's authentic, delicious and the staff was amazing and super happy, ambience was family vibes with good atmosphere music. The food was great, I got menudo and hubby got carnitas and Al pastor tacos we got beer and it was served in icy cold glasses. Totally recommend anyone in the area craving delicious and authentic Mexican food stop by. I'll be back!

Great seafood for two, easily for three people. Quick and friendly service. One of the most diverse clientele. Cozy ambiance. Definitely recommend it.

This restaurant is always busy so call ahead for your take out order or expect a short wait for seating. Everything is delicious. I love the ceviche, the sheimp tacos, carnitas, grilled chixken burritos, even the chips and salsa are good. There drinks ste good too and the staff very friendly. Dekicious food.
